Believe it or not, but all affiliates around the world share the same shibboleth that may be called their distinct feature — regardless of the background, origin, or professional preferences, all affiliates are remarkably curious, and this hallmark helps them find creative solutions to formerly non-existent problems and frequent issues that have been plaguing the industry over the last few years.

However, their curiosity does not only reveal itself when work is involved. More often than not, affiliates show this trait of character in other spheres of their lives. That’s why we want to play with your natural inquisitiveness and lure you into the labyrinthine passages of Bangkok. As long as you’re already visiting Affiliate World Asia, you can mix business with pleasure. By the way, the “mixing” starts at the beginning: let us remind you that you’ve secured a special link that gives you €100 off your Affiliate World Asia ticket. Isn’t it a perfect sign from above to pack your things and prepare for adventure?..

Temple Hops & Tavern Brawls

In a city like Bangkok, it’s nearly impossible to decide where to go: you’re both attracted to the stately, majestic shrines and just as impressive rooftop bars. In this section, we will do our best to be concise and focus on the true gems.

Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn

Quite possibly, the name Wat Arun — or its ‘Europenized’ version, the Temple of Dawn — doesn’t ring a bell. It may sound like a location from a fantasy RPG, but no: it’s a real place; a shrine that towers over the Chao Phraya River.

Built in the early 19th century during the reign of King Rama II, it sits on the west bank of the river, marking the rise of the new capital after Ayutthaya fell. Once you find yourself in the vicinity, you realize the spires aren’t painted with intricate patterns as you may have thought staring at them from afar. Instead, they are covered with colorful porcelain mosaics imported from China, which creates a rather mystical, otherworldly impression. This impression is only reinforced at dawn: as legend has it, the temple’s name comes from the rising sun, which catches the prang just right at dawn, casting golden light across the water — a moment worshippers have cherished for centuries. You’re welcome to experience the exultation of the faithful and attend at dawn, or take your experience one step further — in this case, several steps higher — and climb the central prang for the breathtaking views.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

If you’ve ever been to Istanbul, you remember the turmoil at the Grand Bazaar — or any other bazaar you might have encountered on your way to Sultanahmet or Hagia Sophia. But none of them can compare to the grand selection of products offered at the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok.

Admittedly, you step into the unknown the moment you cross the border between the world of ordinary mortals and the kaleidoscopic chaos of colors, sounds, and smells. Here, vendors sell everything from vintage vinyl and handmade jewelry to tropical plants, quirky home décor, and street food that could rival a Michelin menu — who knows what strikes your fancy, right? Either way, it’s the perfect playground for those who thrive on discovery, bargaining skills, and the occasional “I didn’t know I needed this” moment.

PAÑPURI Wellness

You can’t start networking without a proper recharge, and if your hotel’s facilities are far from what your heart — and body — desires, check out this alluring option.

This wellness center offers programs that balance your mind, body, and spirit: with 12 treatment rooms, five onsen pools, an Akasuri scrub room, steam bath, Himalayan salt sauna, wellness bar, wellness studio, and private relaxation spaces, it’s designed for complete rejuvenation — just what the doctor ordered before and after a particularly busy day a conference like Affiliate World.

Muay Thai

Are you a sports fan? We don’t often mention stadiums or matches in our guides, but Rajadamnern Stadium just... hits different. This tournament is an amalgamation of skill and ritual, immersing spectators into the culture, music, and history of Muay Thai. Ancient Greeks may have invented running and the pentathlon (and another dozen sports we hardly mention on a regular basis), but they certainly failed to grasp and convey the raw intensity and ceremonial drama characteristic of Muay Thai.

Rooftop Bars

Rooftop bars are a cultural phenomenon we cannot ignore. Here are a few options we find particularly enticing.

Spectrum Lounge & Bar

This three-story venue fits the bill. Which bill? Well, that’s up to you.

Spectrum Lounge & Bar has many faces: this three-story venue can become a perfect place for an unforgettable date, mind-blowing private party, or a friendly gathering with the people you met at the Affiliate World conference. If Thai cuisine was not to your liking, you can pick that bar for Western cuisine, charcoal grill, expertly crafted cocktails, and wine selection.

Blue Sky Rooftop Bar

It’s becoming a little too complicated to draw up a list of bars without getting distracted by daydreams of rooftop sunsets. We’re writing this guide as an invitation, but, in all honesty, we desperately want to invite ourselves as well. This became especially evident when we decided to mention Blue Sky Rooftop Bar with its French-inspired dishes and Asian fusion tapas. One glance at the panoramic skyline, a sip of a perfectly balanced cocktail, and suddenly the guide feels less like a list and more like a personal wishlist — one we wouldn’t mind checking off ourselves.

Restaurants

It’s not always convenient to invite your potential partners to a bar — loud music, neon lights, an unimaginable level of noise… In other words, if you want to arrange a meeting at a restaurant, try one of those.

TAAN Bangkok

TAAN is all about modernity. Not only does the restaurant work with independent local farmers, but it also claims to discover inspiration in this unique collaboration, which, in turn, reflects the ever-changing menu. The place is trying to tell a story behind every dish, honoring Thai traditions and — surprisingly — transforming the old-school culinary art into a modern masterpiece.

Mott 32 Bangkok

Why don’t you go to New York’s Chinatown? Your current whereabouts aren’t an impediment: no need to book another expensive ticket and arrange a tiring 20-hour flight. Mott 32 brings the spirit of 32 Mott Street straight to Bangkok, mixing time-honored Chinese recipes with modern flair. The result is a menu that celebrates heritage while astonishing the palate — a feast for both the eyes and taste buds.

The House Of Smooth Curry

It isn’t fair to overlook Thai cuisine, especially with all the bars and restaurants specializing in Mediterranean, Chinese, Japanese, and God-knows-what-else-ese cuisine. You’re visiting one of the most exciting places on earth, so you might as well want to plunge into the culinary culture and taste all four regions of the country.

Off the Beaten Path

As you undoubtedly know, Thailand is much more than beaches and nightlife, but these two components are an integral part of the country. That’s why we want to elaborate on all available vacation options within the country — who knows, maybe you need a more profound rejuvenating session after the conference than a wellness center?

Pattaya

If you aren’t ready to cross half the country for a beach, choose Pattaya, a destination that offers both family-friendly entertainment and... the ones that are more behind the curtain of the nightlife. By day, you can visit water parks, island day trips, and beachfront cafes, but when the sun dips, the city drops its mask and flips the switch. The neon lights flicker on, live music spills into the streets, and you find yourself in a maelstrom of action under the electric glow.

Phuket & Koh Phi Phi

White-sand beaches... dramatic limestone cliffs... turquoise blues... Even when you read it, you probably imagine a picture once plastered on the cover of your notebook — they used these landscapes everywhere on stationery back in the day, when minimalism wasn’t that popular.

But they weren’t imaginary, or, even worse, AI-generated. They are real — visit Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands to see for yourself and experience paradise in a cinematic scenery.

Ayutthaya

Once you get your energies back, travel back in time. Ayutthaya, the ancient capital, provides a more historical view with its spawling ruins, majestic temples, and centuries-old statues that whisper stories of a bygone kingdom. Rent a bike or stroll along the river, exploring the UNESCO-listed sites. Even though you may be unfamiliar with Thai history, you’ll feel the power of the country’s past.

Khao Yai National Park

Are you tired of beaches? Lucky you, because we don’t know how people can get fed up with such beautiful scenery, but we have a lovely replacement in mind: Khao Yai, a wilder side of Thailand, where you can find lush jungles, mountains steeped in thick mists, elephants loitering around... It’s your chance to explore cascading waterfalls, trek scenic trails, and see wildlife making a surprise appearance before your eyes.

Crossing the Border

Don’t you limit yourself to Thailand while you’re there! Asia is a vast continent, renowned for its diverse and colorful blend of cultures, so you might want to make an attempt to learn and experience as many options as possible. We will put forward the three most enticing ones, but you are welcome to consult the map and choose your own destination.

Vietnam

Did you know that French motifs can be found in Vietnam? If you are a French enthusiast, you must have been aware, but if you aren’t, that exact sentence might be a revelation you have been waiting for. The French influence lingers in Vietnam’s architecture, cuisine, and culture — a fascinating echo of its colonial past, which nonetheless merges with local traditions, forming an unadulterated fusion of elegance and authenticity.

Hanoi (source: Google)
Hanoi (source: Google)

What to do in Vietnam? Depending on what your preferences are. You can take a walk across the tree-lined boulevards of Hanoi, gawking at grand colonial buildings and buzzing street markets; stop by a corner cafe for a croissant — it is not a typo, it is intentional! — or savor a cup of Vietnamese coffee. If it doesn’t sound like a perfect way to start a day, we don’t know what does.

Those who dare move deeper into the country may be curious to see Ho Chi Minh City, better known as Saigon. French culture still persists, so don’t be too baffled to see the old Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office — they look exactly like a postcard picture from Paris.

This terse intro leads you to a simple conclusion: Vietnam is a country that embraced Western influence and let it dissolve in the Eastern culture, thus creating a unique, non-forgeable identity.

Cambodia

If Cambodia was never on your list of places to visit, add it there immediately because Cambodia is arguably a time machine to the twelfth century. Cambodia is a country where ancient gods still visit their temples, resting at the top to take in the sunrise, painting everything in golden hues.

Angkor Wat (source: Wikipedia)
Angkor Wat (source: Wikipedia)

Stop at Angkor Wat, the undisputed jewel of Cambodia. At dawn, the temple’s silhouette reflects in the lotus-studded moat like a divine mirage. Take a tuk-tuk ride and prepare yourself for another stunning sight: the Bayon Temple, which will greet you with various enigmatic faces carved in stone. Are they benevolent? Devious? Jeering? Baleful? We know not, it’s always up to you: some travelers claim that the faces smile at you, others are sure they mock you. Either way, it’s an unforgettable experience you will never get anywhere else in the world.

You could stop here or head south to Phnom Penh, the capital. Golden spires pierce the skyline, street food aromas drift in the air, and history hums beneath every façade. But the street food can wait: the Royal Palace awaits.

Whenever you feel drenched in history and art, find your escape in the Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem islands, where the water’s so crystal clear it looks photoshopped.

Singapore

Not a fan of laid-back vacations? Good, we have an option that might just be right up your alley: Singapore, a country that thrives in motion and light.

Undoubtedly, your first stop is a mythical creature — a symbol of Singapore and Singaporeans, the Merlion. Half lion, half fish, this iconic figure guards the waterfront, waiting for you to snap a selfie: consider it a must-have, which will bring you luck. When done, you are finally free to outline the rest of the plan: perhaps you would love to stroll along the Marina Bay Sands promenade, or wander through the lush Gardens by the Bay...

The Merlion Park (source: Wikipedia)
The Merlion Park (source: Wikipedia)

Quite possibly, you’ll need a change of pace, and Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam are here to assist: color, culture, irresistible aroma, freshly ground spices... You’re in two worlds at the same time, experiencing everything all at once, but don’t hasten to devour every snack that comes your way because you are about to see Singaporean culinary pride: the hawker centers, open-air complexes that house numerous food stalls. It’s impossible to cram everything into one paragraph, but hopefully we have managed to create the right atmosphere and lure you to take another trip.

Wrapping Up

As you can see, Thailand is full of contrasts and surprises, but it is always ready to reveal its secrets to anyone willing to pry into its mysteries. At the same time, however, you don’t have to stay rooted to one spot: Asia is an enormous continent, and you’re free to explore in all directions, and who knows, maybe it will ignite your creative spark anew, making you come up with modern solutions, so necessary in the highly competitive business of affiliate marketing.
